Every month SOCO wants to highlight our past non-profit partners. We are thankful for the organizations that are helping make our world a better place. This month’s non-profit highlight is East African Ministries.
East African Ministries is a faith-based non-profit that exists to, “demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ and strengthen God's kingdom by promoting sustainable solutions for clean water, healthcare and leadership development to unreached communities in East Africa.” (eamafrica.org)
EAM is made up of three different programs to complete this goal: Leadership Development International, Mobile Health International, and Water Harvest International. They work primarily in South Sudan with these initiatives.
Leadership Development International focuses on training and empowering future leaders in South Sudan. “LDI's flagship project is the Leadership Academy of South Sudan... The school is an innovative university preparatory academy that will equip South Sudanese students through an academic, professional, spiritual and character development curriculum.”
Mobile Health International’s purpose is to provide basic health care education and preventative health care to the unreached communities of South Sudan. MHI hopes not only to provide basic short-term health care, but also to empower communities to take ownership of their country’s healthcare systems and play an active role in future development.
Water Harvest International provides clean abundant wells to the unreached communities in South Sudan as well as training their communities in sanitation and hygiene practices to prevent disease.
At SOCO we are thankful for organizations like East African Ministries, who are using their resources to cultivate leaders in places longing for a positive difference. We are thankful to make a product that helped EAM, and for the customers willing to use their purchasing power for significant change in the lives of future leaders around the world.
Thank you EAM, you are our heroes!
